The devices of the PCB 682C_3 series are primarily used to connect ICP-type (with built-in charge amplifier) piezoelectric industrial acceleration sensors to process control, PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. By using these units, existing systems can provide continuous vibration-based machine monitoring.

The devices are available in single-channel version to accommodate ICP-type (with built-in charge amplifier) piezoelectric vibration acceleration sensors of any sensitivity. The devices ensure the power supply for the sensors.

The devices of the PCB 682C_3 series generate a 4...20 mA current signal and a 0...5/10 V DC voltage signal - selectable by type - with fixed lower and upper frequency limits, in peak or RMS value. It is also possible to choose whether the output signal should be proportional to vibration acceleration, vibration velocity (with single integration), or displacement (with double integration).
